Revlon Photo-Ready Foundation?

So I walked into my CVS today looking for a little bit of a pick-me-up. I've been having one of those bad mood weeks and, of course, decided that the best way to remedy this was a quick drugstore makeup perusing. I came across the Revlon Photo-Ready Foundation and, since I'd heard so much about it, decided to give it a try. I've heard that this makes for absolutely gorgeous pictures, but I was hesitant to purchase this due to the 'sparkle' I'd heard about as well. So far I've only swatched it on my hand, as I just bought it this afternoon. I'm unsure how this is going to appear because it does have a very glittery effect in certain lighting. This frightens me to no end, as I have no urge to look like a disco ball. I like the sheen that it gives in lower lighting but in the middle of the afternoon in Texas, the glitter seems very apparent (at least on my hand). I will definitely give this a legitimate try and see how it turns out. I'm a bit worried though!

Nivea Sun-Kissed Beautiful Legs Shave Minimizing Gradual Tan Moisturizer

What a long name for a product!

Smell
I set out to find a gradual tanner that didn't smell absolutely disgusting. If you're going to put it on as a moisturizer in the morning it can't smell like fake tan! Though the scent isn't my favorite lotion scent of all time, I think it's the best I've smelled in a gradual tanner. It's a kind of floral scent with only the slightest hint of tanner smell. In my opinion it smells immensely better than the Loreal Sublime Glow Gradual Tanner and the Jergens Natural Glow Gradual Tanner.

Tan
As with most gradual tanning moisturizers, it takes a few applications before much of a difference can be seen. I bought the lotion for medium to dark skin, though I'm probably closer to light to medium. The tan does not look orange at all, but again, a drastic difference can't really be seen. If you're looking to go a few shades darker, this probably isn't the product for you.

Shave Minimizing
This was the most surprising feature of the moisturizer. I wasn't expecting this aspect of the lotion to really work at all. Wrong! It did! I shaved in the shower just before I applied the moisturizer and the next day the hair did feel finer, and did come in a little bit slower. I wouldn't buy this product solely for its shave minimizing effects though. I find it to be a nice bonus but I don't find it effects the hair enough to make that the reason to purchase this product

Overall
I'm very pleased with this product overall. It doesn't smell offensive, gives a slight glow to the skin, and as a bonus minimizes the appearance of hair. If you're in the market for such a gradual tanner, I would definitely recommend this product!

My first beauty blog!

I'm absolutely in love with makeup! For a while I was learning from a local makeup artist by following her to bridal trials and even a couple of photo shoots. I've found that the only way one can really learn though is through doing! I want everyone to learn from what I know and learn new things right along with me. Because this is my first blog, I thought that the best way to introduce myself would be through my favorite beauty products!

Bronzer
Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzing Powder

I love matte bronzers for contouring as I always want defined cheekbones. This one actually smells and tastes a bit like chocolate too! (not that I eat it or anything!)

Foundation
Lorac Natural Performance Foundation in NP 4

It's a lovely matte finish that is fantastic for those with dry skin. I love the full coverage but I find the undertones to be quite yellow, so if your skin doesn't fall into this category, it may not be perfect for you.

Eye Shadows
Urban Decay Urban Ammo Eye Palette

Most of these shadows are extremely sparkly but I love the pop of sparkle on the lid when going out! I would be careful about using too many of these shadows in one look though because the glitter may get overpowering. Though I adore the colors there is a significant chance for fallout so be careful!

Blush
Nars Orgasm Blush

Who doesn't love this? The color is beautiful and smooth but not to dramatic.

Mascara
Maybelline Lash Stiletto

I like a pretty dramatic eye and this is perfect on the lashes for that! It does take a little bit of work to keep it from clumping though so it's not really a slap on and go mascara.

Lip Product
Laura Mercier Lip Glace in Opal

I got this as a sample product from Sephora and absolutely fell in love with it! It's this mildly pink nude color with a lovely sheen. It's not sticky at all and has a very pleas
ant scent! I adore this lip gloss!

I would love to know anyone else's favorite products!
